An 1863 Commemorative Medal For The Centenary Of The Moscow Educational House consisting of a blue enamelled Romanian Cross with clusters of nine gilt rays in eac John LodgeConstructed of bronze, the obverse bearing raised and rightward facing profiles of Tsar Alexander II and Tsarina Maria, circumscribed by names and titles in Russian Cyrillic, with a date of 1863, the reverse bearing a raised depiction of the female personification of wisdom, surrounded by children and situated beneath the symbol of providence, circumscribed by Cyrillic inscriptions indicating that the medal was issued to celebrate the 1863 centenary
